Do You Side Hustle?
Are you looking for something you can do to make a little extra cash, but you don’t have time for a second job? A popular term people are throwing around these days is Side Hustle.
A Side hustle is any action or activity that someone does in addition to their main job, to earn extra income. Very often a side hustle is confused with a second job. I don’t think these two things should be confused, as they are fundamentally different, in terms of flexibility, purpose and financial potential.
In some cases, a side hustle could be the starting point for any entrepreneurial journey. Maybe it’s somethingt that starts small, but grows into a pretty butterfly. Here are a few things that make a side hustle different than a second job
Flexibility
This is one of the main differences between the two. You want the option to work on your schedule and set your own hours. This can be a test of your motivation at times, but that can be what separates you from 97% of the rest of the population. A job will make you follow a fixed schedule, and you already do that.
Income Potential
This is a constant variable, and it’s based on you. Depending on your particular side hustle, and how hard you work, the more potential you have to make more money. With another job, you have an hourly rate, no matter how you perform.
Growth Opportunities
For anyone willing to work hard doing what you love, this is one of the single most motivating factors. You have an opportunity to build something based on the effort you put in. No manager that you need to impress, and you won’t have to sing for your dinner.
Not every side hustle is going to turn into the next Amazon, and not every side hustle needs to be a career move. Maybe you just want to make a few extra bucks using minimal effort. I don’t like to close any doors, so I keep my tentacles reaching in all directions.
I do work a full time job. It’s your typical Nine to Fiver. But I also have 5-9 work that I do everyday, without fail. I’m always researching something, watching training videos, or listening to audio books. Anything to keep the needle moving forward.
Here are few simple things that either I do, or someone I know does, to make a few extra bucks. None of these things will pay your mortgage, but they are so simple, and could get you extra cash to invest, or buy yourself something simple.
If you decide to try any of these program below, I ask that you use the link provided. In most cases it’s a reward for both you and me. In some cases, a discount for you
Fetch
Do you shop? Do you spend money any anything? All you need to do is scan your receipts within 7 days of your purchase, and watch the points roll in. This is targeted more towards grocery shopping, as you get bonus points based on the brands that you buy, but any receipt is accepted. I can confirm that this app pays out in Gift Cards. There are lots to chose from, but I look no further than Amazon.
You can also play games and such on this app, but that’s up to you and how you want to spend your time.
You can find the app on any mobile device.

Upside
Upside also allows you to earn in more than one way. The main use for me is gas. Real simple here, you open the app, if the gas station you are planning on going to is on their list, you claim it, and you have 4 hours to submit the receipt. Most places make this even simpler. I (securely) put in my credit card info into the app. Once I paid at the gas station, I tell the app that I paid with card X, and boom, I am done. Within a 48 hours or less, I see that money in my account.
Upside also has groceries and restaurants that you can do the same for. Dominos is another that I use this app for. You don’t need to pay through the app, just click that are you are about to order it with card X, and when done, it will add the percentage of the purchase to your account automatically. It really is a no brainer.
At the time of this writing, I’ve cashed out about $300. You can get gift cards if you want, but Upside let’s you send directly to a Pay Pal account, which is my preference.
If you use this link, and get an extra 15 cents back, per gallon, on your next gas purchase.
You can find the app on any mobile device.

Pogo
Here is another app that wants your receipts. The good thing is, you can use the same receipt across of these apps. Snap a photo of the receipt right within the app, then boom, you are done. This is the easiest and quickest way to use this app.
If you want to do more, add/allow location sharing. When I drive by certain stores, I get an update that I earned points. You can also earn points for games on this app. Download the app, play to a certain level, and instantly get points. There are surveys and other things too, but for me, I stick to receipts and location. Its very minimal effort
Pogo allows me to cash out right to Pay Pal.

Branded Surveys
Brander Surveys are just what the title says. Surveys. You are sharing information with companies so they can update their analytics. Your first few will be about you and your demographics. This way they know what surveys you are eligible for.
The time it takes for this one is longer than the previously mentioned apps. Some surveys can take 10-15 minutes to complete. They have mechanisms in place so you can’t just skip through all the questions and get points. You need to actually pay attention (in most cases)
I can confirm that getting paid from this site, is as easy anything. Once to get 500 points, which is $5.00, you can withdraw to any account you chose.
You can find the app on any mobile device.

Conclusion
These are just some of the quick and easy apps that I use. They take minutes of my day and it all adds up over time. A power move that I do, is combine the apps. The receipts that you scan on Fetch, you can also scan on Pogo. Line ’em up and knock out for maximum effeciency. I’ve used these rewards for Facebook ads, Amazon cards, maybe some extra gems on that tower defense app that I can’t get enough of! That’s up to you.
What types of side hustles do you do? If you are ever looking to talk about your side hustle, or if you want to suggest something to myself or the readers and listeners, I’d love to hear it. Don’t be shy, you can do it!
